Hello,
We are building a server to host web apps. It will be public facing to an unknown quantity of web users. The web app will use an SQL database in the background.
The server will be an 8-core single CPU system.
We have received two quotes from two different suppliers on the appropriate edition of SQL server we need to purchase, but unfortunately, they are both different, but both insist they are right. There is a huge difference in price, due to the different types of licensing being offered.
Supplier 1:
4 x 228-10344 - SQLSvrStd 2014 SNGL OLP NL
Supplier 2:
4 x 7NQ-00563 - Microsoft SQL Server 2014 Standard Core - License - 2 cores - Microsoft Qualified - MOLP: Open Business - Win - Single Language
Both suppliers are huge IT retailers, both carrying all the usual Microsoft certifications etc.
Please can someone advise which edition is the right one for us?
Thanks in advance!
Best Regards,
Elliot
