Re: Auto Create Statistics OFF for ETL?
We have an ETL process that during the nightly process it truncates our 800+ tables, then inserts table data from another system. This is the only process that updates data.
Wondering if Auto Update Statistics should be turned off?
First, from day to day, the data from the remote system changes very little. Probably less than 1%
Second, at the end of the ETL we perform an sp_updatestats.
Some of our clients are pretty large and the ETL can take hours. Wondering what are some up sides and possible down sides of turning Auto Update Statistics off?
