Hello all,
I was curious about the best way to get a copy of a database over to a new server , connecting to a new database engine for testing purposes. I made a backup of the current live database and backed it up to disk. I then moved it from the server c drive to my personal computer c drive. From there I opened up my virtual machine (test server) and copied the database to that c drive. When i try to restore the database I get an error, I also cant choose the file unless i change it to all files instead of looking for a .bak file? Any help would be great!
