Why is it running SQl server profiler Bad idea.
I want to know why is it bad to run Sql server profiler, because we have CPU with 40 cores and do not see a Cpu spike but I have seen PLE going low if am running for long time so my assumption is that it writes the log in memory so the more it writes it causes memory issues? if my assumption is correct can I script the profiler by scripts to write in a backup drive(used only for backup) ?
Please explain in clear as why running sql profiler is bad? what is the impact I/O? Memory ? CPU? and how
