Multiple Hostnames on one Windows 2012 SQL Server / Providing Databases Access on specifig IP-Address and Hostname

Hi

Situation:

I have a Windows 2012 Server with SQL 2012 Standard.

On this Server i have the IP 172.x.x.69 and the hostname abc123.

I had to transfer a database from an old database server to this new database server and because the applications accesses the databases under another hostname and ip-address i had to configure the ip-address of the old database server on the new database server too.

so i added the ip-address (172.x.x.64) to the server too.

... and on the dns server i've added a static entry for the hostname XYZ123 for the ip (172.x.x.64)

I've deleted the existing dns entry for the ip-address 172.x.x.64 / abc123 on the dns server.

nslookup works fine for now ..... host xyz shows ip 172.x.x.64 ... everything ok ... but ...

after a while, the windows server registers the hostname abc123 also under the ip-address 172.x.x64. If i do now a nslookup i get for 172.x.x.64 no more xyz123 ... now i get abc123.

Because of that some applications don't works anymore.

Question:

how can i prevent the windows server registering him self on the dns server under abc123 and the ip-nr 172.x.x.64?

thanks for helping!

Greetings
Gino
