SSMA MySQL can't connect button greyed out

Hi there,

I am using SSMA Preview to migrate MySQL to MS SQL 2016.

I can connect to the MS SQL Server no problem.

When I try to connect to my local version of MySQL, the "Connect" button is greyed out. There is nothing I can do, including filling out the server name, user name, password to ungrey the button.

I tried all the providers in the dropdown. I have an ODBC connection to the local database using the MySQL ODBC 5.3 ANSI Driver that works.

There is a yellow triangle next to the provider that says "The selector provider has not been tested with this version of SSMA. Provider is incompatible with the installed version of SSMA for MySQL."

I have seen video demonstrations of connecting to MySQL that shows this yellow triangle too so I am not sure if that is the problem or not.

I have tried installing a previously release version of SSMA for SQL Server 2012, but I can't connect to MySQL with that version either.

What is the trick with this?

Thanks,

Ric
