Filter values not available on column headings in form following migration to SQL Server

Hi, we have migrated our access database to SQL Server but still use the access database as the front end.  When clicking on various column headings in forms displaying queries data the usual options appear in the drop down menu for Sort A-Z; Z to A and Text Filters but the usual "pre-populated" values which can be used to tick one or more possible values in the dataset are missing.

Any ideas?

I have highlighted an example below - in this case the date values are not showing.  They used to when the Access database was standalone and not utilizing SQL Server as the back end.

thanks in Advance,

Dan
