HI ,
Can anyone advise regarding switching to SQL Standard from Express. I have a client that is using a system of ours on SQL Express. Its been fine for a few years but he has grown quite quickly over the last 6 Months and the DB is running slow. He has four
Databases on SQL Express with about 40 users. The largest database is now running quite slow on large queries. I have checked task manager on the PC that runs the server and the SQL service is hogging the cpu regularly (every 25 seconds
or so) spiking up to 95% , never really falling below 75%. Currently its using around 2gb of memory. There is a lot of data gong back and fourth as its a busy sales / stock control / invoicing / CRM package . He is asking whether he should upgrade to the full
version , can anyone advice if there is likely to b a performance advantage in upgrading - as know there are both memory and CPIU restrictions with the express version.
Thanks in advance
Nigel
