I've a query which runs ever night. It usually completes within a few minutes but sometimes it's still running in the morning and can take more than 24 hours to complete.
I have a weekly indexing maintenance plan that rebuilds all indexes with over 30% fragmentation and reorganises those with 10%-30% fragmentation and a nightly statistics update task. However, as some of the tables in my query are quite large they don't often meet the criteria for either maintenance task. Is there any issue with creating a separate task to just deal with these tables?
