I am installing Microsoft Security Compliance Manager (SCM) on our DC (running SBS 2011) in an attempt to get Windows 7 starter GPO's. SCM requires SQL Server 2008 Express.
Details: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=16776
During installation, SCM checks the server, finds an existing installation, and shows 2 instances of SQL from which to choose: "You may choose one of them or may install SQL Express for the MSCM". But I have no option to do so; only select an existing instance. One instance is SBSMONITORING (common to SBS 2011 machines) and another isSHAREPOINT. How can I safely create a new instance dedicated to SCM without upsetting the existing databases?
Thanks for your help,
