I/Net Seven is a building automation software in which standalone instances at different facilities maintain databases of their own passwords & trends, not much else, on SQL Express 2008 R2. On the network is a 'Filemaster' which syncs the databases of the standalone machines. Our Filemaster failed and I'm trying to set up a new one. SQL Express will not run on the Filemaster so I installed SQL 2008 Standard Edition. Equalization doesn't work, I get a dialog on the standalone machines saying the Filemaster can't be reached. Firewalls are off, everything pings. Before I go too far astray trying to solve this, will these two versions of SQL play together?
Thanks
