We must configure a dedicated server in housing at an internet provider premises, to publish a Web application (website that uses database managed by Sql server 2019)
Since it is a Web application we asked the Provider to install "SQL Server 2019 Web edition", but he tells us that from Microsoft information: "This license can only be used if the Web Site is public (and our site is public ) and ONLY IF YOU DO NOT AUTHENTICATE (our application asks for the user and password to access).
Now, reading on Docs.microsoft the features and the comparison between the various versions of SQL server I can't find any indication on this limit. I was unable to get a response from Microsoft's commercial or technical support.
